If it weren't for my daily thanx for Life and appreciation of it,
I would probably kill myself today!
Sitting on my veranda in Pocadise,
working on the countless internet accounts I have accumulated over the years,
I decided to delete an obsolete Google account.
Little did I know that it would take my pride and joy with it:
my account on YouTube, Poca TV!
Roots rebel freestyle Poca TV contained
40-odd home-made vidzzz
that collected
thousands of views
and
hundreds of comments
from all over the world! There were over 1-thousand peeps subscribed to it,
all eager not to miss our reports about
Life, Reggae, Jamaica & Rastafari.
A very sad loss indeed, and, to be honest, I'm inconsolable!
Of course all the video's themselves are safe on our many external drives
and can (and WILL) be uploaded again in Poca TV 2.0!
It's just that I never CHOSE to link my YouTube account
to that sordid Google account;
to that sordid Google account;
I was FORCED to and NEVER expected to lose both
when attempting to get rid of one...
when attempting to get rid of one...
And yes, I am INFURIATED that 3 years of zealous work to keep the network going
and to collect all those views and comments should end this way.
Take, for example, our interview with Rasta guru Mutabaruka...
We had over 14-thousand views on it and 70-odd comments.
Now, when you click the link, all you get is:
The same applies to our interview with Queen Ifrica,
our day in the Valley of Decision (21-thousand views!),
our 6-part series on European reggae festivals (15-thousand views!),
two seasons of Rebel Salute in Jamaica,
our special with Earl 16 (9-thousand views!),
Sizzla Kalonji and Capleton live on stage (35-thousand views!!)
and all the other smaller and larger gems...
Like I said, it goes without saying that Poca TV will be re-started.

And yes, I will use the opportunity to freshen it up and to take it to a next level.
But it sure WON'T be on YouTube/Google!!
Will update you as soon as I'm ready.
Finally, this very blog also hinges on a Google account...
Better never delete it, EVER!
In the meantime, my dislike for Google and all it represents
has only grown deeper and uglier.
It's like my Jamaican Rasta bredrin and sistren would say:
"Ah di Babylon Shitsem dat! Dem gi you a ting an' den tek it weh!
Made fi mek di people dem crazy!"
